Principal Investigator
Anna Morozova
Anna Morozova is a researcher at IA and University of Coimbra. She was awarded a Bachelor degree in PHYSICS in 1993, a Master degree in 1996 and a PhD in 1999, all by the St. Petersburg State University (Russia). She is a member of IA since 2021.
Current research interests focus on space weather. In particular, on the geomagnetic and ionospheric activity and their relation to the Sun and the interplanetary medium.
Researcher
Teresa Barata
Teresa Barata is a researcher at IA / Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. She was awarded a first degree in Geology (scientific branch) by the Faculty for Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra in 1987, a Master degree in MSc in Mineralurgy and Mine Planning (image analysis), Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 1993 and PhD in Engineering Sciences, Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, in 2001. She is a member of IA since 2021.
Current research interests focus on image analysis, solar activity, space weather, and space weather effects on economic sectors. In particular, she studies the automatic detection of solar activity phenomena such as sunspots, flares, coronal mass ejection (CME) and filaments that can impact economic sectors, particularly GNSS signal and air navigation. She is a member of the Direction Board of the Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory of the University of Coimbra (OGAUC). She is also currently the International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) National Coordinator for Portugal.
